About Us

We are an experimental psychology laboratory with a phenomenological orientation founded in 2010 at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Our focus is on the study of interpersonal coordination and its relationship to various variables and contexts of human social interaction.

In our laboratory, we approach human interactional phenomena from an experimental perspective, seeking to preserve the naturalness of conversations in each interaction. To achieve this, we use optical motion capture (MoCap) equipment that allows us to accurately measure the coordination of movements between people, as well asthermal cameras to measure variations in body temperature. Furthermore, our analyses and research are based on the notions of expressive meaning and intersubjectivity, which are essential aspects of the phenomena we study.

Over the years, we have carried out various projects related to interpersonal synchronization and its link to empathy, trust, music production, and different contexts of interaction. These projects have given us a broad understanding of the complexities of human relationships and their impact on psychological well-being.
